Dear Colleagues,

Bulgaria will be the host of the 32 Tennis Championship for journalists. Thus we will continue with our long term tradition every summer to gather at a different beautiful place in order to define the best on the tennis court. In 2003 the pearl of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast Albena for the first time hosted the media from all over the world. The comments about the championship were excellent. The international association of the tennis-players AITJ appreciated it as the best hosting in the last ten years.

In the summer of this year, Varna will have for the second time the hnour to be a host of the most prestigious event of AITJ. The matches are on 29.08. to 05.09.2009 at the courts of Grand Hotel Varna in the resort complex St. Konstantin and Elena. Journalists man and women divided into different age groups from 25 to 85 years may participate in them.

Three are the hotels, for which by the website of the championship, you will have the opportunity to make reservations. The sea as well is in close proximity, so besides the opportunity to take part in sports, we hope you spend a wonderful vocation as well. As a tradition for those accompanying the participants we have prepared a special program, which will give them the opportunity to get acquainted with our thousands of years old history and the architectural places of interest in the region. They will take delight in the rich cuisine, the wonderful Bulgarian wines and of course, in our authentic culture.

For more than 20 years, the Bulgarian team is a regular participant in the World Championships and is aware of how to turn a championship into a holiday of tennis.

Every one of you, who plays tennis and is employed permanently as a journalist, may turn to the club of the respective country or to establish contact with us for accreditation.
